POSSESSIVE PRONOUNS

A possessive pronoun shows us that something belongs to someone.

Picture

To create a possessive pronoun we do the following:

1. Identify the noun that belongs to someone.

My dog (inja)
Your shoes (izicathulo)

2. Take the concord of the noun (not the noun prefix).

Dog -- i n ja
Shoes -- i zi cathulo

3. If the concord has only one letter, change it. If the concord has more than one letter, drop the last vowel.

i -- changes to y
zi -- drops to z

4. Add this new prefix to the possessive root word .

My dog -- inja y ami
Your shoes -- izicathulo z akho
