A 21-year-old Canadian woman has turned herself in to police after she was caught broadcasting pornographic material inside two public libraries.
Alexandra Morra, from Windsor in southwestern Ontario, presented at Windsor Police Service headquarters after she was exposed by CBC News for livestreaming more than 50 videos from the city's Riverside and Fontainebleau branch libraries over the past three months.
"We were pretty shocked," library chief executive Kitty Pope said."We learned about a young person in the library in January who was taking inappropriate pictures of herself. When staff discovered this, they tried to find out who she was. She wouldn't identify herself so they asked her to leave."
It is alleged Morra, posting under the name Lislecrett, filmed herself performing sex acts in full view of other library goers, including children.
She is also being investigated for her role in videos filmed at a Tim Hortons' coffee shop in Windsor, CTV reports.
Morra has so far declined to comment on the claims, which have resulted in her losing her contract as a model with website Myfreecams and prompted local media to stake out her family home.
"It's been very stressful, of course. There has been an unanticipated amount of attention brought to this. But she is doing well under the circumstances," Morra's lawyer, Tyler Jones, told the Windsor Star .
"I can say she has been co-operative with the police."Aside from that, given these developments and the fact it is now in the legal system, my hope is that certain factions of the media would stop in their continued presence at her mother's home where she does not reside."
Morra was charged with performing an indecent act and released on bail to appear on April 15.Her arrest echoes that of 19-year-old American Kendra Sutherland who last month pleaded not guilty to public indecency after streaming herself masturbating in the Oregon State University library on Myfreecams.
